Woke up to an incredible Amazon Chart this morning, and it made me reflect…
Looking back, it’s hard to believe it has been 10 years since we first put Maya & Neel’s India Adventures out into the world.
Seeing our books climb to the top of the Amazon charts this Navratri season is more than a nostalgic milestone. It is a powerful reminder of what happens when you build something with a sense of purpose.
In a world obsessed with fast trends and quick wins, creating a product with true staying power is not easy.
How did we do it?
1. We were solving a deeply personal problem – these books started because we wanted our kid and kids around the world to see their culture reflected with joy. The gap was authentic.
2. We focused on impact over algorithms – trends fade over time, but an authentic connection with your clients/customer/users only grows with time. If you create something that genuinely enriches the lives of the families, they become your strongest champions.
3. Persistence became part of our strategy – it takes years of consistent showing up, refining, maintaining the quality, and always, always trusting the vision to get to where we are.

If I may be so bold as to offer tips, this is what they would be:
1. Focus on core human needs such as belonging, storytelling, and connection rather than fleeting trends.
2. Build a community, not just a customer base
3. Never lose sight of the “why” – when new challenges come up every day, staying true to your vision is what keeps you going for the long haul.
To every reader, educator, and family who has welcomed our characters into their homes over the last ten years: thank you for making this journey possible. Here’s to building things that outlive us.
